Day Reporting/Alternative Services
Community correctional
services for adults and youth offenders are provided under a contract with
County and State correctional authorities.
These services provide an alternative to incarceration, transition into
the community, aftercare services for Boot Camp participants, early
intervention for first time offenders, and alternative to school expulsion for
disruptive students.
Intensive Home-Based Juvenile Counseling
Program
Home-based counseling
services to families referred by juvenile authorities and county departments
for Children and Family Services.
Families in crisis receive services to keep families intact and
alleviate family conflict. A variety of
problems are addressed in a culturally competent format.
Hope VI
Intensive home based services
to families residing in public housing as part of a national project to make
families more self-sufficient. The program
addresses social and emotional problems in addition to assisting families with
social engineering tasks.
Residential Services
Therapeutic group home
services are provided to males ages 8-20 at Washington Place Group Home. Therapy is based on a normative model of
intervention. Members present with
problems of acting out, aggression, alcohol and drugs, affective disorders, and
family discord. Residents can stay up to
two years, longer in special cases. Mandatory
weekly individual and group sessions, family days and peer empowerment are
unique features of the program.
Residents attend public school and receive on-site tutoring.
Family Reunification Program
Home-Based social services are
provided to families referred by the Marion County Department of Child Services
to reunite the family subsequent to a disruption caused by numerous
problems. Families are serviced for up
to 15 months.
Alcohol and Other Drugs of Abuse Services
Outpatient addiction services
are provided for indigent and financially challenged individuals and
families. Services are free of charge
and funded by the Marion
County local coordinating
Council. Office-based and home-based
services are provided depending on the need.
Midwest staff also has provided
consultation and management expertise to get programs certified in addictions
for Winona Hospital and the Salvation Army of
Indianapolis. Staff’s previous experience
includes directing the addiction services for several counties and a regional
mental health center.
Marion County Jail
I
Mental Health services are
provided for 1,900 inmates at the Marion County Jail in four locations.
New Castle Correctional Facility
Midwest provides Educational Reentry services to 2,524
inmates at the New Castle Correctional Facility. Services included Vocational Training,
Substance Abuse Education, Recreation, Religious Services, and Reentry Services.

Center provides psychological evaluations and counseling to
inmates enrolled in Day Reporting, Home Detention, Community Work Service, and
Work Release programs.

inmates held at Liberty Hall, a work-release program for female offenders.
