Midwest Psychological Center, Inc.
was formed in 1978 to provide mental health and social services. The
professional staff includes psychiatrist, psychologists, social
workers and addiction counselors.
A comprehensive range of mental health services is offered on an
outpatient basis. Hospital consultation with businesses and agencies
are provided upon request.
The staff at Midwest strives to provide a high quality service at a
moderate cost. Our offices are centrally located in Indianapolis and
are easily accessible by public transportation. Parking is free.
The Midwest Psychological Center has been committed to serving
socially disadvantaged and culturally diverse populations for over 20
years. Midwest Psychological is a certified Minority Business
Enterprise in Indiana and seven states.
In 1996, Midwest expanded its long term care program and developed
Washington Place, a residential facility to provide services to
juvenile males with the Indiana DOC and State of Indiana FSSA. We
added our second residential facility, Ruckle Center, in 2003.
As the demand for correctional behavioral care shifted and the
marketplace developed, Midwest Psychological Center, Inc. has
concentrated on new demand and growth related mental health services,
particularly in correctional facilities. We provide mental health
services to the Marion County Jail system for 2,500 inmates at 5
different sites in Indianapolis, Indiana

Midwest Institute, Inc

Midwest Institute, Inc., a non-profit 501 C-3 affiliate of Midwest
Psychological Center, Inc., provides residential group home care and
indepdent living skills services to foster care in Indianapolis,
Indiana. Midwest Institute, Inc. operates two long-term group homes
for young males ages 8 to 21; Washington Place and the Ruckle Center.
The goals of the program are to provide permanency planning and
successful transition for those residents returning home or to a
foster placement. We provide independent living skills for
adolescents who will be achieving an independent living arrangement
in the near future. Midwest Institute, Inc. has provided residential
group home services and transitional living services to Marion County
Department of Child Services and Marion County Superior Court,
Juvenile Division since 1996.

Program Management Services

Correctional Mental Health Services:
Mental health services including 24-hour emergency care, crisis
intervention, suicide prevention, individual and group therapy, and
substance abuse counseling, medication assessment, discharge planning
and case management.
Residential Services: Therapeutic group home services are provided to
males ages 12-20 at Washington Place Group Home and the Ruckle
Center. Therapy is based on a normative model of intervention.
Clients present problems of acting out, oppositional defiant, mild
mentally disabled, depression, aggression, alcohol and drug abuse,
affective disorders and family discord. The program serves youth who
are transitioning out of residential care or foster care.
Intensive Home-Based Family
Preservation & Reunification: Home-Based Counseling to families
referred by Juvenile Authorities and Marion County Office of Family
and Children Services.
Families in crisis receive services to keep families intact, reunite
families, and alleviate family conflict. Services also include
Mentoring, Supervised Visitation and Parenting / Bonding Assessments.
Mental Health Services: A full range of outpatient mental health
services are offered for children, adolescents, adults and families.
Staff includes Psychologist, Psychiatrist, Licensed Therapist,
Addiction Counselors and Social Workers.
Psychological and Psychiatric services are managed under contract
with correctional facilities and Job Corps. Treatment for alcohol and
other drugs is also provided.
The scope of mental health services is set by each agency based upon
organizational requirements and service needs. We work along with
separately contracted medical health service providers while
providing fully integrated mental health services.
Developmental Disabilities: Midwest Psychological Center, Inc., is
qualified and has fulfilled the requirements under the Indiana
Medicaid Home and Community-Based Services Waiver Program

AODA Services
Midwest AODA: The Midwest AODA Services Program was established to
provide alcohol and other drugs of abuse (AODA) outpatient treatment
services to individuals experiencing the adverse impact of alcohol
and other drugs of abuse in their lives. Services are provided to the
financially challenged and indigent individuals.
The Intensive Home-Based Family Preservation and Reunification
Program is a home-based counseling service to families referred by
juvenile authorities and the Marion County Department of Children and
Family Services. Families in crisis receive services to keep families
intact, reunite families, and alleviate family conflict. A variety of
problems are addressed in a culturally competent format.
